The Flabob Chapter of the Antique Airplane Association
has been revived. When Ed Marquart passed away, we found in his papers the charter of the "Riverside Valley Chapter" of the Antique Airplane Association. When we were next at Blakesburg we talked to AAA Founder Bob Taylor and son Brent, saying that the chapter seemed to have gone dormant years ago but that there was a new spirit at Flabob and we planned to revive it. And so we have. The now-named "Flabob Chapter" has its own clubrooms in the "log cabin" hangars toward the east end of the field, and meets there on the third Wednesday of every month at 9 a.m. All who are interested in antique and classic airplanes and aviation are welcome.
The Chapter started its new life with a big bang: the First Annual Flabob Flying Circus. Read all about it here. Mark your calendar for the 2013 event, September 26-30.
